CHARGED: INSPIRATIONAL DOCUMENTARY PROJECT

My friend George Potter shot An American Ascent on Denali with me. He also co-directed that award winning documentary.

We're all off on other projects now and George is working with Kickstarter to fund this documentary about the inspirational recovery of chef Eduardo Garcia after a tragic accident. I hope you'll watch the trailer and consider contributing to the project. It looks like a story that needs telling.

Setting protection to film An American Ascent

This week's Sierra Radio show features an interview with me about what it was like to film An American Ascent. The award winning feature documentary about the first African American expedition to climb Denali (aka Mount McKinley). I'm in the first segment starting about 30 seconds in. Big thanks to the Sierra Club and Sierra Radio for having me on.

To learn more about the film, upcoming showings and see the trailer check out An American Ascent.

Legendary NOLS instructor Aaron Devine and “rope gun" Mahdu Chikkaraju setting up a complex anchor system to protect those of us on camera as we flirted with the edge to film an action sequence in Distill Productions' new film An American Ascent which documents Expedition Denali: the first all African American team to take on North America’s highest peak (aka Mount McKinley).

The film will be screened this Saturday at 4pm at the Reading Theatre in San Diego as part of the  San Diego Black Film Festival. Here’s a link to more information and the Trailer! If you are down there I’d love to see you at it, and I hope you’ll help spread the word.

First Look: Expedition Denali Trailer

I got a nice surprise this morning as I was unpacking from last weeks assignment. My friends at Distill Productions have finished their promotional trailer for the forthcoming documentary on Expedition Denali and it looks amazing. It was an incredible experience being a part of the film crew documenting this historic climb. Thanks to the Expedition Denali team, NOLS, our Kickstarter backers, and Distill Productions for helping to make it happen.

Without further ado, here is the fun stuff...

Purchase an Expedition Denali print in the adventure gallery of my store.
